There was a note permitting anyone to use the houses as long as nothing's stolen. Weather got rough, ended up storming and raining in the night, so I stayed. I found the log of the guy who worked there for months installing everything. His last entry said that he had come there to find solitude but reached a point where it was torturing him, oblivious to why he'd started it all in the first place and with seemingly endless Calima storms wailing outside, he decided it was time to leave.
